About Erin M. Andersen

Before coming to the Graduate Center, I earned my BA in English with a writing concentration from the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ and my MA in American and English literature from Fordham University. Since 2009 I have worked as a writing tutor at the College of Saint Elizabeth, and started teaching first year composition at John Jay in Fall 2013. While working on my PhD in the English department, I am pursuing a Certificate in Women’s Studies from the Center for the Study of Women and Society. My field is composition and rhetoric, and my research interests include feminist rhetorical studies, writing center pedagogy, writing program administration, and digital literacies.

Thanks so much for taking the time to view my site.

In the upcoming months, I’ll be starting to study for my orals exams, and will be using the blog feature here as a space to write about some of the texts I’m confronting. In the meantime, it’s a rather sad and lonely-looking place. Rest assured, it won’t be for long!

Again, thanks for your interest, and feel free to contact me with any comments or questions about my teaching or research.
